A Walk Too Far
So today my friend and I decided to take a short walk before dinner. After about 3 miles we could see the city and decided we should not allow the opportunity to walk all the way down pass us by. So we walked to the House of Blues where we ate dinner and found that Arlo Guthrie was playing tomorrow. So we were rewarded with good health and good music. Oh the total Distance was about 11 miles. =) It was quite a walk. The moral of the story is Go Walking! Its great fun and a great way to be seen.

New Year Resolution and Scooby's Workshop
The holidays can be a very busy time and with all the extra work put into making the break a successful one, everyday things can get overlooked. Writing a blog for instance, but with the new year upon us and everyone making resolutions and trying to flesh out what the 2011 version of themselves will be, it is in fact time for a recommendation for a work out site.
http://www.scoobysworkshop.com/index.htm
Scooby is an older body builder who uses his experience to help inform new entrants and old hands at bodybuilding about myths and misconceptions associated with loosing weight and getting ripped. If you don't have the time to check out the site you would have come away with two universal truths. The first is weight loss is directly related to the amount of energy you burn and the amount of calories you consume, and secondly the only way to get a really killer body naturally is commitment and hard work. I hope you can follow through with your new year resolutions and emerge from 2011 with a great body and an even better work ethic.

Shoe Trees
Lets talk about cork. Nothing feels quite like a good cork sole shoe, and one of the best cork sole shoes on the market is the Georgetown II by Johnston and Murphy. The more you walk in these the better they seem to feel.

It seems these days that all you see walking down the street are deck shoes and sneakers. Well Its time to bring back the classic cap-toe and wingtip. It seems that men have an aversion to paying 400 dollars for a pair of shoes but with the right care and feeding, a good pair of resoleable shoes can last for years. Plus these shoes do not cost considerably more than a pair of designer sneakers.
If you want to keep your shoes looking nice your going to need some tools to help fight deformation and moisture. Shoe bags help absorb moisture and help prevent scuffing during storage or travel and travel can be especially hard on dress shoes. A shoe tree can prevent toe and heel deformation and can also help to absorb moisture. If you tree your shoes before a polish it makes it much easier to hold and handle the shoe and gives you resistance when you buff and polish the leather.

Here is a pair of shoes that have been on the road for

Saki and Wine
Drink recommendation for the day is Zipang Sparkling Saki! Great stuff! It tastes of rice wine but sparkles like a champagne.

On a further tasting note 2006 Ruffino is not nearly as good as 2007. It is still a good Chanti but it is no where near as suttle and smooth as the 2007.

Highland Park 12 Year
Perhaps this blog should be called a lifestyle blog more than a fashion blog. The new shoes still have not been photographed and the hats are seeing more and more wear. By the time that any of this stuff gets blogged about they will all be antiques. One thing that would get better with age though is scotch, and tonight we open the Highland Park 12 year.

This scotch starts out with

Journaling!
It seems most people associate journaling with writing down the days events at the end of the day, in manner portrayed in Ken Burn Films. The style where our for fathers in America wrote out a log of their activities. However while in school taking note there would be ideas that could not be remembered throughout the day, especially while trying to pay attention the the lecture, so it was necessary to denote a departure from note taking and make extra unrelated notes on the tops of the paper. After finding that there were just as many notes on unrelated topics as there were on the things that the teacher was talking about, a new form of journaling developed that I like to refer to as active journaling.

Try keeping a small notebook or bound book with you and when ever an idea comes, just write it down. you will be surprised how often as your mind wanders you will come up with some wonderful ideas that will be forgotten by the end of the day. After a few days of active jour
